What to do after the Olympics leave town!

February 27, 2010

There are so many fun things going on in Vancouver and around the Fraser Valley right now due to the Olympics. Do you think we’ll be bored when it all ends in 2 days? Not likely! Once the Olympics pack up and leave town the Paralympics begin and there will be lots of great events to attend to show our support for all of our wonderful and inspiring Para- Olympians! Most Celebration sites and Live Cities will remain open through the Paralympics closing ceremonies on March 21st, 2010. With Spring just around the corner and the Easter Bunny stock piling little chocolate eggs we are in for one busy busy start to one of my favorite seasons!

Here are a few things to keep in mind heading into the season that symbolizes everything new, fresh and renewed!

First…Are you going to hold an Easter Egg hunt at your house? Invite all the neighborhood kids perhaps a few from school and the rest of the family, well if you are planning to go all out and have an amazing Easter weekend you will need to have “It Girl Party Productions” on speed dial! This fabulous and fun party company has plenty of experience in the Easter Extravaganza department! From adorable cakes and cupcakes to darling little gift baskets for all ages this company will design the party of the year for you to implement in your backyard or local community centre. Props, entertainment, catering, party favors and even the all important hiding of the coveted Easter Eggs will be taken care of for you, I hear they even know Peter Cottontail personally and may be able to get him to pay a visit to your shindig!

After the party is over and you need to clean house get ready to attend one of the largest Kids Swap Meets of the year! The Lower Mainland Children’s Directory has teamed up with Just Playdates to participate in a National Fundraiser for Unity for Autism on May 1st 2010.  So start cleaning out the garage, the kids closets and the toy boxes! Pack up all of your gently used baby, toddler and kids items and schlep them on down to the nearest Mom 2 Mom Sale location (to be announced, but there will be more than one in BC) to help Just Playdates, the Children’s Directory and Mom 2 Mom raise funds and awareness for Autism while attempting to break the Guinness Book of World Records record!
